大河ドラマ「新選組」第33回「友の死」再放送決定！

東京中日スポーツHPより

ＮＨＫ大河ドラマ「新選組！」（日曜午後８時）で、堺雅人（３１）
演じる総長・山南敬助の切腹シーンを放送した第３３回「友の死」
（８月２２日放送）が、いまだに視聴者の間で大きな反響を呼んで
いる。これを受けて、ＮＨＫは３日までに、総集編（２６日）を放
送後の３０日に３３話のみを再放送（午前１０時５分から）するこ
とを決めた。極めて異例の編成方針で、感動シーンを再びお茶の間
に届ける。

だそうです。
総集編に加えて、新選組ファン、山南さん双方に吉報ですね！

紀宮さまご結婚

更新が遅れましてごめんなさい(11/15)

マイナーチェンジですが、更新履歴Blogを変えました。

このごろ、大学生活を生きていくのに精一杯で
歴史サーチの更新が大変遅れています。申し訳ありません。

発言削除など、対応が大変遅延しております。

尊皇攘夷

留学生の前で行ったプレゼンテーションのタネです。
尊皇攘夷、わかってたつもりが、全然わかってないことに気付いた・・・。

平易な英語を心がけたけたのですが
単に英語力がないという説が最有力です。

Sonnou joui, is one of historical thoughts in late Edo period. This word is organized four Chinese characters. First, let’s study this meaning.(writing four words)
Son means “to respect”. Nou means an emperor, so Sonnou means to respect emperor.
Jou means “to exclude with the force” and finally, I means foreign countries. This word originally used in old China, contain meaning of humiliation, looking down on other countries.
Sonnou thought was born in comparably early Edo period. Scholars who belong to Mito-han wrote original Japanese history “Dai-Nihon-shi”. In this book, they made clear that emperor (Tennou) was very holy and center of Japan and Japanese history. They used many traditional thoughts included Kokugaku, Shinto and Confucianism to justify emperor’s authority. For example, in Confucianism, great Chinese thoughts, a ruler who had a virtue is better than powerful conqueror. In Japanese case a ruler with virtue is emperor. But in this time, it’s doesn’t necessarily mean to criticize Tokugawa shognate. Some radical samurai who criticize Bakufu punished, but majority has a respect for both emperor and Tokugawa shognate. And also important characteristic of Sonnou was that it was the thought for elite samurai. Famous person was Fujita Touko, a scholar of Mito-han.
However, when foreigner, especially Russian and American, began to require Japan to give up Sakoku, open ports and do free trade, many samurai considered that foreigner were rude. Foreigner used the force and insisted on their requirements. Many samurai expected Bakufu to expel foreign ships, but Bakufu finally concluded Japan-America Treaty of Amity and Friendship without permission of emperor, from February to march in the first year of Ansei(1854),　representatives of Bakufu and the United States of America met on the beaches of Yokohama village and promised to open ports and do free trade.
Many samurai disappointed Bakufu and got angry. Their thinking changed. For them, Bakufu was no longer a subject of respect. Moreover, in late Edo period, Bakufu became weaker. They began to criticize the way of Bakufu doing. One of the most famous thinkers in this time was Shoin Yoshida. He belonged to Cyoshu-han. For his theory, Bakufu was just a delegation of emperor. If Bakufu didn’t work well, Bakufu should return its power and People had right to defeat such weak Bakufu. He made his own school and educated young samurai. These samurai became important person in Meiji restoration. But Shoin and many radical thinkers was punished and executed by Bakufu.(Ansei-no-Taigoku) However In 1860, some radical samurai assassinated Ii Naosuke, the ambassador of Bakufu, because Ii couldn’t avoid opening Japan. This accident is called “Sakuradamongai-no-hen”. A few more radical samurai killed foreigner or attacked foreign embassy and ships.
Though Sonnou-joui-ha had a strong will and sometimes did eccentric things, they began to realize the superiority of foreigner. They were defeated by foreigner and came to know they couldn’t expel foreigner in power. Their Joui thoughts were changed and they realized that they must defeat Bakufu and made strong Japan.
